Working in Singapore

Dependant’s Pass holders who wish to work in Singapore can get a work pass to do so.
 

Dependants of work pass holders are welcome to contribute to our economy and society while in Singapore. If you are:

Looking to work for an organisationShow

DP holders who get a DP-WP:

DP holders who get an EP or S Pass:

  • Will need to meet prevailing EP or S Pass qualifying criteria
  • Will be granted the work and stay privileges associated with an EP or S Pass. As their stay in Singapore is no longer dependant on the main pass holder, they will no longer require a DP, and their DP will need to be cancelled before their EP or S Pass gets issued.
Prospective employers can use the Self-Assessment Tool (SAT) to check if the candidate qualifies for an EP or S Pass.

Looking to volunteerShow

You do not need to obtain a work pass to participate in volunteer activities if:

  • No payment is involved
  • The activities are for a charitable purpose

Looking to work remotely while based in SingaporeShow

You will need a work pass if you are working for or providing services to a Singapore-based organisation (that is registered with ACRA).  

However, if you are working for or providing services to an overseas-based organisation or client, you do not need a work pass.
