You have 45 days to appeal against an unsuccessful Work Permit application, but you should only do so if you can address the reasons for the rejection.
When to appeal
There will be no change in the outcome unless you can provide new information or have taken action to address the rejection reason. You should only appeal if you can address the issues in the rejection advisory.
You need to submit the appeal within 45 days from the date of application, but not on the same day as your application. If you miss this deadline, you will need to submit a new application which will be assessed based on the prevailing criteria.
Who can appeal
Only the prospective employer or employment agent who submitted the application can make enquiries or appeals. We will not process enquiries or appeals from the candidate, or anyone else.
Submit an appeal
- Check the rejection advisory in FDW eService for reasons and next steps.
Appeals cannot be made on the same day as the application. If you do wish to appeal, please log in the following day to appeal.
- Click on “Appeal” and provide your reasons for the appeal. You may submit up to 5 supporting documents
We will contact you if we need any clarifications or supporting documents.
After submitting your appeal, log in to FDW eService to:
- Check the status of your appeal.
- Print the outcome letter.
How long it takes
90% of appeals are processed within 2 weeks. The outcome of the appeal will be sent to the email address you provided in the application. Alternatively, you can log in to check your appeal status.
