After two years as a Research Assistant in a clinical company, Sivani took an unexpected next step and moved into a sales role within the same organisation.
She leveraged her technical expertise to understand clients' needs, communicate complex concepts clearly and bridge the gap between technical expertise and practical application.
"It was easier to make a lateral move within the company," she says. "The transition benefitted both the company and me, while giving me the opportunity to grow and contribute in a different way."
The move helped build skills in business development, stakeholder engagement and relationship management, while expanding her regional exposure.
Today, Sivani works as a Technical Sales Manager in the preventive medicine space, partnering with healthcare organisations and clinicians across the region to support preventive health and precision medicine initiatives that help drive better long-term health outcomes.
"Career growth does not always mean a fresh start. If you are unsure, reflect on your strengths and have open conversations with your supervisor. You may discover opportunities to grow right where you are."
