More than a decade in printing, now he codes AI

After more than a decade running his own printing business, Kuang Hao wanted to explore new career opportunities. With support from his career coach, he was able to identify how his transferable skills could open doors in the AI sector.

"My career coach, Noel, helped me understand my strengths and better position my experience. The coach also encouraged me to enrol in an AI Singapore's Apprenticeship programme (AIAP)." he recalls.

After months of self-study, he passed the programme's technical assessment and gained hands-on experience developing AI solutions through a company attachment.

Drawing on skills honed as a business owner, such as problem-solving, adaptability and Python coding experience from building apps for his business, Kuang Hao successfully transitioned into tech.

Today, Kuang Hao works as an AI Engineer at a multinational information technology company, developing AI platforms and solutions for businesses.

"Changing careers wasn't about starting over. It was about building on what I already knew, staying open to new opportunities and continuing to learn."
