Like many fresh graduates, Wafeeqah had a clear plan after completing her diploma. But when her university applications didn't go as expected, she took time to reassess her next steps instead of rushing into another application cycle.
"I decided to build on my experience and used the gap year productively and did internships, freelance projects, and a photography contract while looking for opportunities on job platforms such as MyCareersFuture," she recalls.
The experience and insight into the creative industry helped build a strong portfolio and eventually secured a full-time position as a Content Producer at a digital marketing agency where she plans, shoots, develops creative concepts and brings stories to life.
"I see my gap year not as a detour, but as an important part of my journey. The experience gave me the time and space to build my portfolio, grow my confidence and gain a clearer sense of the path I wanted to pursue."
