Eager to gain more real-world experience, Megan chose to take on internships instead of pursuing a second major or minor, using the opportunity to explore different industries and roles.
One such internship was at a multinational investment bank, where she later secured a place in its graduate programme. There, she rotated across different teams, including one focused on AI, which sparked her interest in the field.
"I gained exposure to various areas of the business and in AI projects and sought career guidance from managers on opportunities available."
Megan strengthened her coding skills, practised for technical interviews, and learned from industry professionals.
Her efforts paid off and she converted into a full-time role as an AI Software Engineer, where she develops AI-powered tools that help client advisors serve customers more efficiently.
"You don't need to have everything figured out from the start," she says. "Sometimes taking small steps helps you figure out what's right for you."
