Apply to be a Third-Party Inspection Agency

You can apply to register as a Third-Party Inspection Agency (TPIA) for Lifting Equipment or Steam Piping. You can apply for a licence for a head office or branch office.

Note:

  • Your company’s head office needs to be licensed first before you can apply for a branch office.
  • Each branch requires a separate application.
  • You also need to submit applications for third-party inspectors together with your application for TPIA.

How to apply

You can apply for either the head office or a branch office.

Apply for head office or branch office

To submit an application for head office:

  1. Log in with Corppass.
  2. Upload all supporting documents.
  3. (Optional) Log in to check your application status.

You will receive an email notification if your application is successful.

Documents required

Submit all the documents required with your application.

For head office (Steam Piping)

You will need to submit the following:

  • Company profile stating company goal, type of services, company network and accreditation.
  • Project and services provided by the company for the past 3 years in pressure vessel fabrication inspection.
  • A copy of the organisation chart of the head office.
  • ISO 9001 or equivalent certification.
  • Inspection Body Accreditation Certificate for ISO/IEC 17020 or equivalent certification.
  • Evidence that the company is using an NDT lab that is recognised by the Singapore Accreditation Council under the Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA).
  • Sample copies of test reports, inspection reports and certificates, technical reports or magazines published by the company or its inspectors.
  • A minimum of 2 inspectors approved as fabrication survey inspectors.
  • (For steam piping only) Business registration certificate from ACRA.

For branch office (Steam Piping)

You will need to submit the following:

  • Documentary proof that the branch is a subsidiary of the company, located in a country / region other than the head office.
  • Company profile stating company goal, type of services, company network and accreditation.
  • Project and services provided by the company for the past 3 years in pressure vessel fabrication inspection.
  • A copy of the organisation chart of the head office and branch office, including the relationship between the two.
  • ISO 9001 or equivalent certification.
  • Inspection Body Accreditation Certificate for ISO/IEC 17020 or equivalent certification.
  • Evidence that the company is using an NDT lab that is recognised by the Singapore Accreditation Council under the Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA).
  • Sample copies of test reports, inspection reports and certificates, technical reports or magazines published by the company or its inspectors.
  • A minimum of 2 inspectors approved as fabrication survey inspectors.
  • (For steam piping only) Business registration certificate from ACRA.

For office (Lifting Equipment)

You will need to submit the following:

  • Company profile stating company goal, type of services, company network and accreditation.
  • Documentary proof that the branch is a subsidiary of the company, located in a country / region other than the head office.
  • Project and services provided by the company for the past 3 years in the work applied for.
  • A copy of the organisation chart of the branch office.
  • A valid ISO 9001 certificate.
  • A valid Inspection Body Accreditation Certificate to ISO/IEC 17020 and any other relevant letters or certificates of approval or testimonials for the company.
  • Sample copies of test reports, inspection reports, certificates, technical reports and magazines published by the company or inspectors.
  • Curriculum vitae of proposed inspectors of the company.
