You can add Third-Party Inspectors for Lifting Equipment or steam piping to your organisation’s approved personnel.

Requirements

Applicants need to meet the academic, professional and work experience requirements listed under documents required.

In addition:

  • Inspectors for Lifting Equipment need to be familiar with at least 2 of the following Standards and Codes: ISO, BSI, ANSI, EN, DIN, ASME, SS and FEM.
  • Inspectors for Steam Piping need to be familiar with at least 2 of the following Standards and Codes: ASME, BS, TEMA, API, AD Merkblatter, TRD Spec, Stoomwezen, JIS.
  • All inspectors need to have a working knowledge of English.

How to apply

  1. Log in to register and manage WSH Service Provider using Corppass.
  2. Under Certificates, select option to Add Personnel from your approval record.
  3. Upload all supporting documents.

You will receive an email notification if your application is successful.

Documents required

Submit all the documents required with your application.

Separate the submitted files in the following format in your CD:

  • Personal Data Sheet
  • Academic Qualifications
  • Professional Qualifications
  • Curriculum Vitae

For approved inspector of Lifting Equipment

You will need to submit the following:

  • A completed Personal Data Sheet including the marking and stamp used by the proposed inspector. Inspectors must be between 21 and 65 years old at their last birthday.
  • A copy of a basic degree in an engineering discipline from a university or college recognised by the Singapore Professional Engineers Board.
  • Certificates of relevant qualifications in welding technology, welding inspection, lifting equipment inspection, non-destructive testing and other related technologies, including knowledge of the design and manufacturing of mobile or tower cranes.
  • List of projects or services undertaken related to work scope applied for.

For approved inspector of steam piping

You will need to submit the following:

  • A completed Personal Data Sheet including the marking and stamp used by the proposed inspector. Inspectors must be between 21 and 65 years old at their last birthday.
  • Copies of one of the following academic qualifications:
    • A basic degree in an engineering discipline from a university or college recognised by the Singapore Professional Engineers Board.
    • A diploma or technical certificate in an engineering discipline acceptable to the Occupational Safety and Health Division.
  • A list of projects from the past 5 to 7 years showing experience in working with pressure vessels, such as experience in welding technology and inspection, and pressure vessel inspections (especially with steam boilers).
    • Surveyors with a basic degree in engineering must have at least 5 years of relevant experience. The degree must be recognised by the Singapore Professional Engineers Board.
    • Surveyors with a diploma or technical certificate in engineering must have at least 7 years of experience.
  • Certificates of related professional courses attended in the design, manufacture and inspection of pressure vessels, welding technology, welding inspection and other related technologies. The certificates must be certified as true copies by the Third-Party Inspection Agency.

    The certificates include the following:
    • At least one of the following certificates:
      • American Welding Society’s (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Senior CWI
      • The Welding Institute’s (TWI) Level 2 Welding Inspector or Level 3 Senior Welding Inspector
      • British Institute’s PCN Level 2 or Level 3
      • API 570 Piping Inspector
    • Supporting certifications:
      • API RP 577 - Welding and Metallurgy
      • ASNT NDT Level II certificate
      • ASNT NDT Level III
      • ASNT Level III certification
      • ACCP Level II certification: 5 NDT methods (MT, PT, RT, UT and VT)
      • ACCP Professional Level III
