Application Process for Work Permit for Foreign Domestic Worker
Work Permit (Foreign Domestic Worker) applications can be made online through the Internet, or in person at any SingPost branch office.
Applications may be made under the following schemes
Normal Application
Online Application
Step 1: Submission of Application
- A Work Permit application can be made online through Work Permit Online - an online portal for selected work pass transactions. A SingPass and a Unique Entity Number are required before an applicant can register for a Work Pass Online account.
- A $10 administrative fee will be charged for each Work Permit application submitted and payment can be made online using Visa/MasterCard or eNets Debit.
Step 2: Assessment and Approval
It takes a day to process a Work Permit application. The outcome can be accessed online.
Step 3: Collection of Permit
Applicant may proceed to collect the Work Permit.
Applying in person
Step 1: Submission of Application
- An applicant may submit a hardcopy of the Work Permit Application Form in person at any SingPost post office (MOM-appointed collecting agent).
- A $10 administrative fee will be charged for each Work Permit application submitted and payment can be made at SingPost using cash, NETS or CashCard.
Step 2: Assessment and Approval
- It takes seven working days each to process the Work Permit application. The outcome will be mailed to the applicant.
- Successful applicants will receive an In-Principle Approval letter or a “Letter of Notification to bring the Foreign Domestic Worker into Singapore” for first-time foreign domestic workers.
Step 3: Collection of Permit
Applicant may proceed to collect the Work Permit.
