Apply for Temporary Permit (TP)

With progressive enhancements to the Work Permit application process, the time taken to get the Work Permit issued has reduced.

Before 29 November 2026

For non-Malaysian workers: The in-principle approval (IPA) letter allows workers to start work from their second day of arrival in Singapore.

For Malaysian workers: You may apply for a TP via WP Online if you need the worker to start work before their Work Permit is issued.

From 29 November 2026

All workers can only start work after their Work Permit is issued, or if they have a TP letter.

You should get the Work Permit issued as soon as possible. If you need your worker to start work urgently and are unable to complete issuance steps soon, you may apply for a TP through the Work Permit eService on myMOM Portal.

Levy charges will commence on the day the TP is granted, including any levy charged during the Onboard Programme if you apply before the worker completes it (where applicable).
