National Wages Council Invites Views on Wage Guidelines

1. The National Wages Council (NWC), chaired by Professor Lim Pin, Professor of Medicine at the National University of Singapore, will commence its deliberations on wage and wage-related guidelines for 2011/2012 in April 2011. To assist the NWC in its deliberations, members of the public and organisations are invited to offer their views on the wage guidelines.
2. In its deliberations, the NWC will consider relevant factors such as Singapore's economic performance and outlook globally, regionally and in Singapore. The Council will also look at Singapore's cost competitiveness, labour market conditions, the effects of inflation, productivity, and rewards to workers for their contributions.
3. Members of the public and organisations are invited to give their views on the wage guidelines for this year. They can send their views to the Secretary of the NWC through the following channels by 5 April 2011:
