Scam alert: Fake email on “Urgent: Positive COVID-19 test result for your foreign worker(s)"

Foreign manpower Work passes and permits

There’s a fake email titled “Urgent: Positive COVID-19 test result for your foreign worker(s)”.

The email uses a spoofed MOM email address (no_reply_ace@mom.gov.sg) and instructs the recipient to download an attachment that claimed to contain information on foreign workers who tested positive for COVID-19.

This is a scam. Advisories issued by MOM alerting employers of COVID-19 cases are sent without email attachments.

If you received this fake email:

  • Do not respond. Ignore it, delete it.
  • Do not download any attachments.
  • Do not click any links.
  • Report to the police or call the anti-scam helpline 1800 722 6688.
