Scam alert

Public advisory on a phishing campaign using spoofed MOM email address.

MOM has been alerted to cases of members of the public receiving emails from scammers to deceive recipients into providing their personal information.

The phishing campaign uses a spoofed MOM email address (mom_wpd@mom.gov.sg) and also attaches a form for the recipient to fill in.

Be vigilant if you have received an email which contains the following:

Name of sender mom_wpd@mom.gov.sg
Email subject URGENT Status of Application
Title of attachment Work permit form DD_MM_YYYY.pdf.zip

Please use only the official MOM website at www.mom.gov.sg for all info and transactions on MOM matters. Here are tips on how to identify and report fake “MOM” websites, phone calls and emails.

MOM takes such incidents seriously. We have been working closely with the Singapore Police Force on investigations and will continue to do so to prevent further cases.
