Budget 2013

This year’s Budget Statement was delivered by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, in Parliament on Monday, 25 February 2013.

The announcements for MOM are:

  • There will be more Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) for those who need it.
  • The concessionary Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW) levy rate will be reduced from $170 to $120. There is no change in the qualifying criteria. Please refer to the FAQs on the concessionary FDW levy rate change.

On 26 February 2013, MOM issued a press release to elaborate on the enhancements made to the Foreign Manpower Policy for quality growth and higher wages.
