Penalties will be increased to deter WSH offences and unsafe WSH practices.
Composition fines
Since 14 June 2022, composition fines was doubled from a minimum of $1,000 to $2,000 for each workplace safety and health (WSH) lapse.
Maximum fines
Maximum fines will be increased from $20,000 to $50,000 for breaches of WSH Act subsidiary legislation that result in either:
- Death or serious bodily injury
- Dangerous occurrence
The effective date for the increment of maximum fines will be announced at a later date.
