Tripartite Delegation to Attend International Labour Conference


  1. Singapore’s Minister for Manpower, Lim Swee Say, will lead a tripartite delegation to attend the 104th Session of the International Labour Conference from 8 to 11 June 2015 in Geneva, Switzerland. 
  2. The delegation comprises Mr Chan Chun Sing, Secretary-General, National Trade Union Congress (NTUC); Mr Robert Yap, President, Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF); union members, employer representatives and officials from the Ministry of Manpower.
  3. This year’s Conference will discuss issues relating to small and medium-sized enterprises and their impact on decent and productive employment creation, facilitating transitions from the informal to the formal economy and labour protection.
  4. Minister Lim will deliver a speech at the Conference on 10 June 2015 (Wednesday), which will touch on Singapore’s economic situation and recent labour policies. Minister Lim, Mr Chan and Mr Yap will also jointly call on Director-General of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Mr Guy Ryder. In addition, Minister Lim will attend an informal G20 Labour Ministers’ Dinner hosted by Mr Ryder and will have meetings with his foreign counterparts on the sidelines of the Conference.
