Tripartite Delegation to Attend International Labour Conference

  1. Singapore’s Minister for Manpower, Tan Chuan-Jin, will lead a tripartite delegation to attend the 103rd Session of the International Labour Conference from 7 to 10 June 2014 in Geneva, Switzerland.
  2. The delegation comprises Mr Lim Swee Say, Secretary-General, National Trade Union Congress (NTUC); Mr Stephen Lee, President, Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF); union members and officials from the Ministry of Manpower. 
  3. This year’s Conference will discuss issues relating to the elimination of forced labour, facilitating transitions from the informal to the formal economy as well as current employment challenges and their implications for employment policy. 
  4. Mr Tan will address the Conference on 10 June 2014 (Tuesday), and will touch on Singapore’s economic situation as well as recent labour policies in his speech. He will also hold bilateral meetings with his foreign counterparts.
