Tripartite Delegation to Attend International Labour Conference

  1. Singapore's Minister for Manpower, Mr Gan Kim Yong, will lead a tripartite delegation to attend the 99th Session of the International Labour Conference from 10 to 16 June 2010 in Geneva, Switzerland.
  2. The delegation comprises Mr John De Payva, President, National Trade Union Congress (NTUC); Mr Lim Swee Say, Secretary-General, NTUC; Mdm Halimah Yacob, Deputy Secretary-General, NTUC; Mr Stephen Lee, President, Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF); Mr Bob Tan, Vice-President, SNEF; Mr Koh Juan Kiat, Executive Director, SNEF; and officials from the Manpower Ministry.
  3. The topics to be discussed at this year's Conference include follow-ups to the ILO's response to the global economic crisis, decent work for domestic workers and other workplaces practices.
  4. Mr Gan will address the Conference on 15 June 2010, Tuesday1. He will update on the outcome of Singapore's tripartite efforts to address the economic downturn, as well as Singapore's plans to reposition our economy for sustainable and inclusive growth.
  5. During the Conference, Mr Gan will also be holding bilateral meetings with his counterparts from other countries.
