Second Conference of the Asia-Europe Meeting (Asem) Labour and Employment Ministers, 13 – 15 October 2008, Bali, Indonesia

Mr Gan Kim Yong, Acting Minister for Manpower, will be attending the Second Conference of the ASEM Labour and Employment Ministers in Bali, Indonesia from 13 to 15 October 2008.

2.   The theme of the Conference is “More and Better Jobs – Strategic Cooperation and Partnership to promote Decent Work and Global Labour Markets to our Mutual Benefit”. Mr Gan will deliver a speech at the Conference and chair a working group discussion on “Training and Employability”. Mr Gan will also hold bilateral discussions on manpower issues with his counterparts at the sidelines of the conference.

3.   Mr Gan will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Manpower.
