QUESTION NO. 3443 FOR ORAL ANSWER
MP: Ms Lee Hui Ying
To ask the Acting Minister for Manpower regarding parental leave-related employment claims (a) what is the average time taken to resolve such claims by the Tripartite Alliance for Dispute Management and Employment Claims Tribunals; (b) whether the process is prolonged due to claimants being unfairly burdened in proving that the adverse treatment received was linked to their leave; and (c) if so, what measures are in place to address this.
Answer:
1. Between 2023 and 2025, the median time taken to resolve parental leave-related claims at the Tripartite Alliance for Dispute Management (TADM) was one month. For parental leave-related claims that were not resolved at TADM and proceeded to the Employment Claims Tribunals (ECT) for adjudication, the median time taken to resolve these claims was about 5 months from lodgement at TADM. The time taken to resolve parental leave-related claims was comparable to the time taken to resolve other employment claims at TADM and ECT.
