Written Answer to PQ on Creation of Flexi-Load Jobs for Senior Workers and Caregivers

NOTICE PAPER NO. 1519 OF 2026 FOR THE SITTING ON OR AFTER 4 NOVEMBER 2026
QUESTION NO. 2363 FOR WRITTEN ANSWER

MP: Mr Patrick Tay Teck Guan

To ask the Acting Minister for Manpower given that the Ministry intends to offer grants and incentives to employers to encourage the creation of flexible load jobs for senior workers, caregivers, and others, whether the Ministry will incentivise a balance of Rank and File and Professionals, Managers, and Executives roles, as the supply of the latter may be comparatively limited.

Answer:

The Government has accepted all six recommendations of the Tripartite Workgroup on Senior Employment (TWG-SE), which were released on 26 October 2026. One key recommendation is to scale up flexible roles for seniors who need them, through the introduction of a new Flexi-Load Programme (FLP). The FLP will support employers to create more flexi-load opportunities for senior workers and jobseekers aged 50 and above across both Rank-and-File and Professional, Managerial and Executive (PME) jobs. We have no plans to prescribe any particular balance of flexi-load opportunities across different job types.
