Written Answer to PQ on Access to Deceased CPF Nomination Information

NOTICE PAPER NO. 1381 OF 2026 FOR SITTING ON 6 OCTOBER 2026
QUESTION NO. 2148 FOR WRITTEN ANSWER

MP: Ms Sylvia Lim

To ask the Acting Minister for Manpower (a) since February 2024, in how many cases of death of a CPF member have eligible beneficiaries under intestacy laws accessed information on nominations made by the deceased member; and (b) whether the prevailing access process automatically recognises eligible beneficiaries or requires case-by-case verification.

Answer:

1. To simplify post-death handling of CPF matters for families, CPF nominees and eligible individuals under intestacy and Muslim inheritance laws can access CPF account information of a deceased member including nominations. This is in line with established estate administration processes.

2. While nominees can access the deceased member’s CPF account information automatically, eligible beneficiaries who are non-nominees must submit a request to CPF Board for access, along with the required supporting information to establish their relationship with the deceased under the relevant intestacy laws. These safeguards for non-nominees serve to protect the member’s CPF account information.

3. Since 1 February 2024, the account information of around 2,500 deceased CPF members has been provided to eligible non-nominee family members. We do not track access by nominees.
