Written Answer to PQ on Timely Notification of Job Application Outcomes and Adoption of TS on Recruitment Practices

NOTICE PAPER NO. 940 OF 2026 FOR SITTING ON 4 AUGUST 2026 QUESTION NO. 2356 FOR ORAL ANSWER

MP: Mr Patrick Tay Teck Guan

To ask the Acting Minister for Manpower (a) what is the current adoption rate of the Tripartite Standard on Recruitment Practices among employers; (b) what measures are in place to ensure that job applicants, including those for public-sector positions, receive timely updates on their application status; and (c) how many complaints have been received in the past three years on employers failing to notify applicants of hiring outcomes.

Answer:

1. As of end May 2026, a total of 6,620 entities, including government agencies, have adopted the Tripartite Standard on Recruitment Practices (TSRP).

2. The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) does not track complaints relating to employers not notifying applicants of hiring outcomes. We encourage employers to inform candidates who attend interviews on how results will be communicated, and to subsequently notify them of the outcome within a reasonable timeframe. Employers can refer to guides such as the TSRP, the Fair Recruitment and Selection Handbook, and the Tripartite Guidelines for Fair Employment Practices (TGFEP) to strengthen their fair employment practices.
