NOTICE PAPER NO. 3437 OF 2025 FOR SITTING ON OR AFTER 17 FEBRUARY 2025
QUESTION NO. 6546 FOR WRITTEN ANSWER
NMP: Ms See Jinli Jean
To ask the Minister for Manpower to help workers keep pace with rapid technological changes, whether the Government will consider including workforce training outcomes as a requirement for business grants managed by sector agencies.
Answer:
Government agencies provide a variety of grants to support companies to upgrade and grow their business, so that they remain competitive and keep pace with industry trends. For grants that may be more closely linked to workforce transformation, businesses are already required to commit to specific worker outcomes, including workforce training, as part of the application process. For example, the Company Training Committee Grant and Enterprise Singapore’s Enterprise Development Grant require applicants to commit to worker outcomes, such as wage increments, job creation, job redesign, or training for existing staff as part of the qualifying requirements.
