NOTICE PAPER NO. 2344 OF 2023 FOR SITTING ON 6 NOVEMBER 2023
QUESTION NO. 5151 FOR WRITTEN ANSWER

MP: Mr Ong Hua Han

To ask the Minister for Manpower for each year from 2020 to 2022, what is the proportion of persons with disabilities in the workforce who are employed by firms with fewer than 25 employees.

Answer:

The requested information is in the appended table. The figures are presented as two-year moving averages to smoothen year-on-year fluctuations due to the small number of persons with disabilities surveyed.

Table 1: Proportion of persons with disabilities employed by firms with fewer than 25 employees

   2020-2021  2021-2022
Resident1 employees aged 15 to 64 with disabilities who are working in firms with fewer than 25 employees as a percentage of all resident employees aged 15 to 64 with disabilities  23.3%  26.1%
Source: Comprehensive Labour Force Survey and Administrative Records, Manpower Research and Statistics Department, MOM
Note: While moving averages can help smooth out year-on-year fluctuations, the numbers may not yet be indicative of a trend. Further monitoring is needed.
