To ask the Minister for Manpower (a) how many Singaporeans and Permanent Residents with disabilities are currently employed; (b) what percentage of Singaporeans and Permanent Residents with disabilities are employed as (i) Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMETs) and (ii) non-PMETs respectively.

Answer:

Data on employment of persons with disabilities is collected through the Ministry of Manpower’s Comprehensive Labour Force Survey. Due to the low prevalence of disability, the number of employed respondents with disabilities in the survey cannot be used to accurately estimate the number of employed persons with disabilities in the resident population.

2. From the survey, we can estimate the proportions requested by the Member. Amongst employed persons with disabilities aged 15 to 64 in 2021-2022, about four in ten were working as professionals, managers, executives and technicians, or PMETs, while the remaining were in non-PMET jobs. The share of employed persons with disabilities working as PMETs has increased over the years, in line with the overall trend for employed residents in general.
