NOTICE PAPER NO. 1885 OF 2023 FOR THE SITTING ON 8 MAY 2023
QUESTION NO. 4520 FOR ORAL ANSWER

MP: Ms Sylvia Lim

To ask the Minister for Manpower (a) what are the remaining issues to be sorted out before the Government will introduce the anti-discrimination law announced by the Prime Minister at the National Day Rally in 2021; and (b) when is the draft law expected to be circulated for public review.

Answer:

1. The Tripartite Committee on Workplace Fairness released its interim recommendations in February this year. We thank the public for providing feedback. The Committee is considering the feedback received.

2. The Committee targets to complete its deliberations and release its final recommendations in the second half of this year. Thereafter, drafting of the legislation will commence and we aim for that to be ready in the second half of 2024.
