My worker has gone home to his country and will only return X months later. Meanwhile, I have cancelled his work permit and will reapply for the worker again before he returns to Singapore. How will this affect my worker?

For workers listed under Group 1, MOM does not allow any new work permit application. Only immediate renewal of the work permit is permitted and the conditions pegged to the renewal of the work permit are mentioned in the notification letter.

For workers whose work permits had been renewed prior to the worker going on their home leave, the employer shall bear the worker’s levy for the duration the worker is not in Singapore.
