How do employers claim reimbursement for Government-Paid Maternity Leave?

Before paying maternity leave benefits, check that your employee:

  • Meets the eligibility criteria.
  • Gives you her declaration form (GPML1) at least 1 week before the start of maternity leave.

You should pay your employee’s full salary during her maternity leave. GPML reimbursement helps to defray the cost of your employee's maternity leave.

Once your employee returns from maternity leave, submit your claim for reimbursement at www.profamilyleave.gov.sg.

You should:

  • Submit the claim within 3 months of your employee’s last day of maternity leave.
  • Keep your employee’s declaration form for 3 years, for audit purposes.
