What are the different COMPASS sectors and their supporting agencies?

COMPASS is a transparent points-based system that gives businesses greater clarity and certainty for manpower planning.

Qualifications eligible for points on C2 (Qualifications) and occupations eligible for points on C5 (Shortage Occupation List) are reviewed annually.

Qualifications and occupations need to be endorsed by sector agencies in order to be considered for inclusion. If you wish to suggest qualifications or occupations for inclusion onto COMPASS, please reach out first to the relevant sector agency.

  • If there are multiple supporting sector agencies, you may write in concurrently to them.
  • Nominations to changes in the COMPASS criteria that are received by March will be considered during the COMPASS annual review in the same year. If successful, these changes will take effect from January the following year. Those received after March will be considered in the next year.
