From November 2026: Apply for a Temporary Permit, view and update Work Permit holders' particulars and extend in-principle approvals
Apply for Temporary Permit (TP)
There will be a change in the process of applying for a Temporary Permit (TP). This will give you greater control over which workers need to be on TP and for what period, as well as when levy is charged.
Before 29 November 2026
For non-Malaysian workers: If the Work Permit application or appeal is submitted before 29 November 2026, a TP will be issued automatically together with the in-principle approval.
For Malaysian workers: You may apply for a TP via WP Online if you need the worker to start work before their Work Permit is issued.
From 29 November 2026
You will need to apply for a TP if you need the worker to start work before their Work Permit is issued. This applies to both non-Malaysian and Malaysian workers.
You should only apply for a TP when you are certain this is necessary. Levy charges will commence on the day the TP is granted and will not be waived, including any levy charged during the Onboard Programme if you apply before the worker completes it (where applicable).
You may apply for a TP through the Work Permit eService on myMOM Portal.
When to apply:

Once the application is submitted, the TP will be granted instantly for eligible workers. Download and share the TP letter with your worker.
Manage Work Permit holders' particulars and employment details
Before 29 November 2026
Log in to WP Online to view and update your worker’s particulars, occupation, employment details (key employment terms such as salary), and security bond status.
From 29 November 2026
Log in to Work Permit eService on myMOM Portal to access the new View/Update Foreigner Profile function to:
- View your worker's particulars, occupation, employment history, and security bond status.
- View and update your worker’s employment details.
To update your worker’s particulars and occupation, please continue to use WP Online. We are working to make these functions available on myMOM Portal in 2027.
Extend validity of Work Permit in-principle approval
You may use this function to extend an in-principle approval (IPA) validity if you are unable to bring the worker into Singapore before their IPA expires.
If your worker is already in Singapore and requires more time before their Work Permit can be issued, you should request for a Special Pass instead. The IPA validity will be extended automatically upon the issuance of a Special Pass.
