Personalised Employment Pass - After you apply

Cancellation of Pass

The Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) must be cancelled if the pass holder is unemployed for more than six months. The pass may be cancelled before the end of its five-year validity period. However, the pass holder will not be able to reinstate the PEP subsequently. After cancelling the pass, the pass holder should obtain a valid pass, e.g. Short Term Visit Pass, Employment Pass, etc, to remain in Singapore.

Note: The Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) does not have to be cancelled each time the PEP holder changes his employer.  This is a benefit of the PEP.

The PEP will continue to be valid with each change of employer by the holder. However, the PEP holder is required to notify the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) whenever he changes his employer.

How to Cancel a Pass

The Personalised Employment Pass holder can cancel the pass electronically through EP Online.

Cancellation through Employment Pass Online

The Personsalised Employment Pass can be cancelled through EP Online - an online portal for selected work pass transactions. A SingPass is required in order to access this function. The cancellation status is available through Employment Pass Validity Status query page.

Download the Step-by-Step Guide to Cancel Pass via EP Online for more information.

Short Term Visit Pass

A 30-day Short Term Visit Pass will be issued upon cancellation of the Personalised Employment Pass.

Other Information

  • Cancellation of Other Related Passes
Please note that when the main pass is cancelled, all other passes related to the Personalised Employment Pass will be deemed as cancelled, with the exception that the pass holder has become a Singapore Permanent Resident. The Dependant's Pass and/or Long Term Visit Pass can be cancelled via EP Online. Failure to do so will result in the Dependant's Pass and/or Long Term Visit Pass holder becoming an overstayer.
  • Singapore Income Tax Clearance
Employers are required to seek tax clearance. Read more about e-Tax Clearance on the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) website.
