Growth and Development at MOM

Training

Every individual is valued and we help each other grow and develop to the fullest potential. Training, integral to the career development of our officers, is widely accessible and takes the form of on-the-job and structured training both locally and overseas. Structured training includes courses, conferences or learning days.

To complement our training initiatives and programmes, MOMers are encouraged to continuously improve their competencies through job change every three years. This can take the form of annual postings within MOM as well as attachments/secondments, including to private sector companies, to provide valuable exposure to best practices and enhance our organisational capability. We want to give MOMers the opportunity to gain new insights and manage their own careers, and this is just one of the ways we grow in MOM.

Work-Life Harmony

Our people are the heartbeat of MOM. MOM's vision of “A Great Workforce and A Great Workplace” is made real because of the respect and care we have for one another. We respect every MOMer as diverse individuals who contribute to a team, and recognise that each of us has special needs. We offer services and programmes such as flexible working hours, sabbaticals, study leave, health care services as well as recreational activities and other activity clubs to help our MOMers achieve work-life harmony.
