Tripartite Delegation to Attend International Labour Conference

  1. Singapore's Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Manpower, Mr Hawazi Daipi, will lead a tripartite delegation to attend the 100th Session of the International Labour Conference from 13 to 14 June 2011 in Geneva, Switzerland.
  2. The delegation comprises Mr John De Payva, President, National Trades Union Congress (NTUC); Mr Lim Swee Say, Secretary-General, NTUC; Mr Stephen Lee, President, Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF); Mr James Lee, Honorary Treasurer, SNEF; and officials from the Ministry of Manpower.
  3. The topics to be discussed at this year's Conference include social security, decent work for domestic workers and other workplace practices.
  4. Mr Hawazi will address the Conference on Tuesday, 14 June 2011 . He will update the Conference on Singapore's economic and labour situation, as well as Singapore's plans to reposition the economy and workforce for sustainable and inclusive growth for the benefit of businesses and workers.
  5. During the Conference, Mr Hawazi will also be holding bilateral meetings with his counterparts from other countries.
