30 September 2010

  1. Procter and Gamble Asia Pte Ltd and The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore have been awarded the prestigious 2010 Asian Human Capital Award. Both companies were awarded for their outstanding people practices which led to significant impact in driving business results. The awards were presented at the Singapore Human Capital Summit’s Award ceremony by Singapore’s Minister for Manpower, Mr Gan Kim Yong.
  2. The 2010 Asian Human Capital Award attracted more and better quality submissions from across Asia. Their entries ranged from change management, talent and leadership development, to harnessing technology and corporate sustainability.
  3. In recognition of the many high quality entries received, National Parks Board, Standard Charted Bank and Wipro Limited were also honoured with the Special Commendation Prize. Delegates at the 2010 Singapore Human Capital Summit will have the opportunity to listen and interact with the CEOs of all five organisations as they share their winning people practices. The five people practices are summarised in Annex A.
  4. Mr S. Dhanabalan, Chairman of the Award judging panel and Chairman of Temasek Holdings, said, “The Asian Human Capital Award recognises and showcases organisations which have outstanding employee practices, to inspire the rest of Asia. I am pleased with the high quality of the winning entries this year and the variety of programs to mobilise and motivate those who work in their enterprises. This shows there are new and varied human capital practices which organisations can develop to address the unique needs of their people. There is no one-size-fits-all solution. All the deserving winners displayed a strong grasp of their business fundamentals and looked for creative solutions to fit their specific situation.”
  5. “2009 was an extremely challenging year for companies in Asia due to the global financial crisis. Against this backdrop, the Award celebrates organisations which had the vision to harness their most valuable asset – their people – to overcome the business challenges, and pave the way to be at the forefront of competition when the economy recovers,” said Manpower Minister Gan Kim Yong.
  6. Chief HR Officers and senior leaders from the five winning organisations will also participate in the Asian Human Capital Award Forum on 1 October 2010 in a post-Summit session, where they will share their winning people strategies.
