Invitation for Application: Accredited Training Provider (ATP) for Settling-In Programme (SIP)

Accredited Training Provider for Settling-In Programme

The Foreign Manpower Management Division (FMMD), Ministry of Manpower (MOM) would like to invite interested applicants to apply as ATP to conduct the SIP.

Settling-In Programme (SIP)

MOM will introduce a mandatory SIP, in place of the current English entry test, to help first-time foreign domestic workers (FDWs) better cope with living and working in Singapore. To be introduced by mid-2012, the SIP programme will subsume the current half-day Safety Awareness Course (SAC) and include new components such as adapting to living and working in Singapore, managing stress, working safely, as well as conditions of employment and responsibilities of the FDW. The SIP will be conducted in English or the FDWs’ native language to maximise understanding and retention.

A first-time FDW needs to complete SIP within three working days (Monday – Saturday, excluding arrival day) following her arrival.

Application procedure

MOM will appoint Accredited Training Providers to run the SIP. Applicants who wish to conduct the SIP are required to:

  1. Attend a mandatory briefing on 20 December 2011 (at least one representative from each company)
  2. Submit documentary proof to show that company’s paid-up capital is at least $300,000
  3. Submit completed Application form A and B with the required documents.
