As an employer, how can I verify that an employee is eligible for shared parental leave?

To verify that your employee is eligible for shared parental leave:

  1. Your employee’s spouse must indicate her decision to share up to 4 weeks of maternity leave with your employee. She can use the Shared Parental Leave Allocation System (SPLAS) to do so.

    Note: Once the decision is made in SPLAS, it cannot be changed.
  2. Your employee should print out the decision and give you a copy.
  3. You can also log in to SPLAS to verify.
