Can my foreign worker bear the entire cost of treatment if it exceeds the minimum medical insurance requirement?

No. However, you can arrange for your foreign worker to bear part of the cost of medical treatment in excess of the minimum medical insurance requirement.

The arrangement must be made with the foreign worker's agreement and must be stated explicitly in the worker's existing employment contract or collective agreement.

Such arrangements should not be abused. As a rule of thumb, they should not exceed six months. The amount paid by the worker should not exceed 10% of their monthly salary.
