I had paid levy using other payment methods. Can the GIRO deduction for that month be stopped?

We can only stop the GIRO deduction if you pay using other methods at least 8 working days before the 17th of the month (or the next working day, if the 17th falls on a weekend or public holiday).

As GIRO is a standing order with the banks, we need the 8 working days to:

  • Allow payments to be updated into your account, and
  • Inform the bank to stop the GIRO deduction for your bill.

If you have paid levy, but not in time to stop the GIRO deduction, the excess payment will be automatically used to offset your next levy bill. Alternatively, you may request for a refund.
