Why did MOM update the job advertising requirement under the Fair Consideration Framework?

All employers are expected to consider Singaporeans fairly for jobs.

From 1 May 2020, we expanded the job advertising requirement to cover job positions paying a fixed monthly salary of less than $20,000.

From 1 October 2020, we further extended the job advertising requirement to S Pass applications. The minimum job advertising duration was also increased from 14 days to 28 days.

These updates ensure that more jobs are advertised to locals as part of a fair hiring process, and there is no pre-selection of a foreign candidate.

We encourage all employers to advertise on MyCareersFuture when they have vacancies, and consider all applicants fairly.
