7-day additional testing regime

The 7-day additional testing regime was started from 6 January 2021 to minimise the risk of transmission of imported COVID-19 cases in dormitories.

What is it

The Multi-Ministry Taskforce (MTF) introduced the 7-day additional testing regime on 6 January 2021 to minimise the risk of COVID-19 cases in dormitories.

Due to worsening COVID-19 situation globally and emergence of new virus variants, the MTF extended this additional testing regime to work pass holders who are:

  • Entering Singapore from 5 February 2021.
  • Entering Singapore from higher-risk countries or regions and must serve 14-day SHN.
Male Work Permit and S Pass holders from CMP sectors Undergo additional 7-day testing regime as part of their stay at MWOC.
Female Work Permit and S Pass holders from CMP sectors Undergo additional 7-day testing regime at designated facilities.
Work Permit and S Pass holders from services and manufacturing sectors, and staying in dormitories Undergo additional 7-day testing regime at designated facilities.

Update your work pass holders' addresses

After successful application of entry approval, you must register or update your workers’ addresses.

If your worker’s address after 14-day SHN is different from the address declared during entry approval application, you must:

  • Update the new intended place of stay via OFWAS or EP Online within 5 days of any change in residential address.
  • Inform the Controller via a declaration form of the new address within 5 days from your worker’s arrival in Singapore, and submit the completed form to the SHN dedicated facility (SDF).

Receive email from MOM

You will receive an email from MOM if your foreign workers need to go for additional 7-day testing regime before moving to designated facility.

You should inform your foreign workers that they need to go for the additional 7-day testing.

Cost and payment

For foreign workers in services and manufacturing sectors who need to serve the additional 7-day test regime, you will be charged an additional $315 on top of the 14-day SHN stay.

For foreign workers in CMP sector, the costs of the additional testing regime have been included into the MWOC fees.

You will receive an email from no-reply@pay.gov.sg containing a link and instructions for making payment using a credit card.

Meals

Your workers will get daily meals at the MWOC and designated facilities.

Transport

The Government will arrange for your foreign workers to be transported to the designated facility or MWOC after they have completed their SHN at dedicated facilities.

Upon completion, you must arrange for transportation to pick up your foreign workers from the designated facility or MWOC and transport them to their place of stay. You will be informed via phone to pick up your worker. You can pick up your worker between 2:30pm and 8pm.

Penalties for non-compliance

MOM will not hesitate to take enforcement measures if you do not comply with the requirements or make false declarations. This include criminal proceedings, work pass revocations and withdrawal of work pass privileges.
