Providing Equipment and Services:Renewal for Competent Persons

Registered competent persons are issued Certificates of Competency which is valid for two years. A renewal notice will be sent before a certificate expires. Competent persons should renew their registration at least six months before expiry.


 

Competent persons are to renew their registration via OSHD Online:
- First Time Applicants
- Authorised Users
Note: SingPass is required for OSHD Online Transactions.
 
For renewals via OSHD Online, the documents required should be submitted via post to:

Renewal of Certificate of Registration as a Crane Operator can be done personally at MOM, please proceed to Counter 2 of the Customer Service Centre at the above address during the following times:
8.30am – 1pm or 2pm – 4pm (Monday - Friday)
 
A new Certificate of Competency will be sent to the applicant by post upon renewal.

 Documents required for renewal applications:

  • A recent NRIC size photograph
  • A copy of work permit card (for non-Singaporean)
  • Cheque of $20.00 payable to "Commissioner for Workplace Safety and Health"
  • Medical Report Form from a Singapore registered Medical Practitioner (for operators 60 years old and above or if so required by the Commissioner for Workplace Safety and Health)

Singaporeans and Permanent Residents:

Time lapsed from expiry date of crane operator's registration
Conditions for renewal
Less than 6 months
None
6 months or more and up to 3 years
Re-assessment test required
Above 3 years and up to 5 years
Refresher course and re-assessment test required
Above 5 years
Full course and re-assessment test required


 

Foreigners:

Those with valid work permits (with job description "Crane and Hoist Operator") and a valid certificate of registration will be re-registered.
Those with expired certificates of registration will not be re-registered.

  • A copy of the applicant's NRIC
  • Valid Annual Practising Certificate issued by Singapore P.E Board, if the applicant is a P.E
  • Cheque of $60.00 (for each competency) payable to "Commissioner for Workplace Safety and Health"
  • Medical Report Form from a Singapore registered Medical Practitioner (for operators 60 years old and above or if so required by the Commissioner for Workplace Safety and Health)
