Statistical Charts

Notes:

Statistics on the average (mean) monthly earnings are compiled based on the payroll of Central Provident Fund (CPF) contributors.
Data pertain to all full-time and part-time employees who contribute to the CPF. All identifiable self-employed persons who had made voluntary contributions are excluded.
Data from 1998 onwards are not comparable with those for previous years due to a break in series. Prior to 1998, CPF Board catered for a 4-digit field for monthly wage data (i.e.maximum of $9,999) in their database. In 1998, the field size was expanded to 5-digit (i.e.maximum of $99,999).
Data are classified based on Singapore Standard Industrial Classification (SSIC) 2005 from Q1 2005 onwards.

Data prior to 1998 refer to bargainable employees only while data from 1998 onwards refer to all employees.

^*Prior to 1995, the quantum of variable component paid refers to that paid for the year. From 1995 onwards, the quantum paid refers to that paid in the calendar year.
