Public Holiday on Polling Day - 11 September 2015

  1. In accordance with Section 35 of the Parliamentary Elections Act, Polling Day, 11 September 2015 is a public holiday.
  2. As with other public holidays, the relevant provisions of the Employment Act will apply for employees covered by the Act. Employees required to work on a public holiday are entitled to an extra day’s salary for the day’s work, or be given another day off. Employers have the additional option to grant managers or executives, who earn up to a basic monthly salary of $4,500, time-off-in-lieu for working on a public holiday. The time off should consist of a mutually agreed number of hours.
