Selected Cluster:

For the upcoming COPS in August/September 2010, MOM will be conducting workplace inspections on the Shipbuilding and Ship-repairing Industry.

The focus of the workplace inspections will be on the following work activities and hazards:

  • Work in Confined Spaces;
  • Work at heights; and
  • Crane Operations.

To assist the affected companies in building safe & healthy workplaces, the following Technical Advisories (TA) are available on the Workplace Safety & Health Council (WSHC) website for reference:

Confined spaces

  • Confined space Kits
  • TA for confined space

Work-At-Height

  • TA for scaffolds
  • Fall Protection Plan (FPP)

Use of equipments such as cranes

  • TA for safe operation of lifting equipment
