Expanding CET system to support productivity

New support for approved CET courses under the Skills Development Fund to be introduced post-SPUR

At the inaugural graduation ceremony of Singapore Polytechnic's Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) Diploma in Precision Engineering, Minister for Manpower Gan Kim Yong announced that MOM and the Singapore Workforce Development Agency are focusing their efforts to expand the Continuing Education and Training (CET) system to support the vision of capability and productivity driven growth laid out by the Economic Strategies Committee. The three key thrusts of the CET strategy ahead are:

  • Enabling our people to deepen their skills in all jobs;
  • Expanding CET offerings for professionals, managers, executives and technicians (PMETs); and
  • Helping rank-and-file workers upgrade their skills through the Workfare Training Support (WTS) scheme.
