Upcoming Cluster Operations (COPS)MOM will be conducting construction worksite inspections at and around West Sectors of Singapore. Operation Period: August 2012 to September 2012
The focus of the inspections will include the following work activities:
- Working at heights
- Safe use of equipments - Tower crane layout and operations, mobile cranes and elevated work platforms (e.g. scissors lifts)
- Safe means of access and egress
- Formwork safety
- Excavation safety
- Openings and open sides
- Roof works
- Fall prevention plan
- Permit to Work Systems
- Lifting Plan
- Risk Management
Contractors may refer to the following Technical Advisories (TA) / checklists which are available at the Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC) website for reference.
Work at height
- Code of Practice for working safely at height
- Technical Advisory for working at height
- Compliance assistant checklist
- Self-assessment toolkit
Safe Use of Equipments such as cranes and mobile elevated work platform
- Technical Advisory for safe operation of lifting equipment
- Checklist for fixed mount tower crane users
- Safe use of mobile elevated work platform
Safe Means of access and egress

- Technical Advisory for scaffolds
Contractors may also wish to procure the relevant Singapore Standards from SPRING Singapore for their reference such as Code of Practice for safety in trenches, pits and other excavated areas.
