Work Permit (Foreign Worker) - When you apply
Application Process
If you have never applied for Work Permit (WP) or S Passes before, you are required to declare your organisation's business activity, before submitting any WP or S Pass applications.
You may submit your applications online or manually.
Online Application
Step 1: Submission of application
- Work Permit applications can be made online through WP Online - an online portal for selected work pass transactions. A SingPass and CPF Submission Number (CSN) are required for the registration of a WP Online account.
- A $20 administrative fee will be charged for each Work Permit application submitted and payment can be made online using Visa/MasterCard or eNets Debit.
Step 2: Assessment and approval
Step 3: Collection of Pass
Applicant may proceed to collect the Work Permit.
Manual Application
Step 1: Submission of application
- Submit the completed Work Permit application form in person at any SingPost post office (MOM-appointed collecting agent).
- A $20 administrative fee will be charged for each Work Permit application submitted and payment can be made at SingPost using cash, NETS or CashCard.

Step 2: Assessment and approval
- It takes seven working days to process the Work Permit application. The outcome will be mailed to the employer.
- There are certain conditions an applicant needs to fulfill upon approval of the Work Permit application.
- The Work Permit issuance forms will be mailed to the employer.
- Register Work Permit Holder’s address with MOM.
Step 3: Collection of Pass
Applicant may proceed to collect the Work Permit.
