Work Permit - Before you apply
Exemptions
The following types of foreigners do not need to apply for a Work Permit:
- Singapore Permanent Residents
- Dependant's Pass holders under the Employment Pass scheme. Foreigners holding the Dependant's Pass must apply for a Letter of Consent from the Work Pass Division before they may work in Singapore
- Full-time matriculated or registered students who are from approved institutes and on vacation
- Full-time matriculated or registered students from approved institutes of higher learning whose working hours do not exceed 16 hours a week.
