Application Process

Joint Income Scheme

Under the Joint Income Scheme, an employer must:

  • be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident
  • be 21 years old and above
  • not be an undischarged bankrupt
  • combine his/her income with one of his immediate family members (other than his spouse) living in the same address.

Online Application

Step 1: Submission of application

  • Work Permit application for Foreign Domestic Worker can be made online through WP Online - an online portal for selected work pass transactions. (SingPass is required for login).
  • A $20 administrative fee will be charged for each Work Permit application submitted. Payment can be made online using Visa/MasterCard or eNets Debit.

Step 2: Assessment and approval

  • It takes seven working days from the date of receipt of the documents to process a Work Permit application. The outcome can be accessed and printed online.
  • Successful employers will receive an In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter or a “Letter of Notification to bring the Foreign Domestic Worker into Singapore” for first-time Foreign Domestic Workers.
